Detroit beat Orlando 97-93 to complete a 4-0 sweep and power their way into the NBA play-offs second round. The Pistons, the 2004 NBA champions and top seeds in the East, posted their first four-game sweep in 18 years.
"We kept a good focus. We swept the series but by no means was it easy - they definitely didn't give it to us," said head coach Flip Saunders.
Detroit now await the winners of the series between Chicago and defending champions Miami. The Bulls lead 3-0.
Orlando looked like they might take Detroit to a fifth game when they led 85-80 after a Grant Hill dunk with 3:18 to play in Florida.
But the visitors gathered themselves with a time-out and took charge with a 9-1 run sparked by a Rasheed Wallace three-pointer.
Pistons backcourt duo Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton combined to make six free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal the victory.
The only team below .500 to make the play-offs, the Magic have now lost seven straight post-season games - all to Detroit - dating back to 2003.
