Robertson and Wallwork reach mixed doubles last eight
Robertson is out of the men's doubles but still in the mixed event
Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork reached the last eight of the mixed doubles at the European Championship with an easy win on Thursday.
The British third seeds took 26 minutes to beat Germany's Johannes Schottler and Sandra Marinello 21-9 21-12.
Their next opponents are Alexandr Nikolaenko and Valeria Sorokina.
Seventh seeds Chris Adcock and Gabby White are out after throwing away match point against Nathalie Descamps and Wouter Claes, losing 13-21 22-20 21-16.
And Wales's Richard Vaughan and Sarah Thomas are also out of the the mixed, after losing 21-18 21-13 to Ingo Kindervater and Birgit Overzier.
Athens Olympic silver medallist Robertson said he was happy with the way he and Wallwork had played in their match.
"They were a pair we haven't played and I think they came out a bit afraid of us," he said.
"They were quite defensive and made it easy for me by lifting a lot to me in the first half.
"It gives you a lot of confidence when you can just smash them to the floor."
An injury to men's doubles partner Anthony Clark means the mixed doubles is now Robertson's only hope of success at the tournament at the MEN Arena.
Robertson reveals his poker face
"We had the potential to go all the way, so it is unlucky and disappointing, especially for Anthony," added Robertson.
And Wallwork only has the one hope of success as well after she and White surrendered a 10-5 lead in the final game of their women's doubles match to lose 18-21 21-18 21-14 to Germans Sandra Marinello and Birgit Overzier.
Adcock made up for his mixed doubles disappointment by teaming up with Robert Blair in the men's competition, where they enjoyed two successes.
First they beat Ruud Bosch and Koen Ridder in their opening round, and in the evening session they followed that up with a 22-20 21-14 win over Ireland's Sam Magee and Tony Stephenson.
Marcus Ellis and Peter Mills also reached the third round, but Chris Langridge and Robin Middleton and Welsh duo Joe Morgan and James Phillips lost out in the second round.
Mariana Agathangelou and Heather Olver reached round three of the women's doubles, as did Scottish duo Emma Mason and Imogen Bankier of Scotland.

But one of England's brightest hopes in the men's singles, Andrew Smith, was forced to pull out of his third-round match against Germany's Marc Zweibler because of a leg injury.
There was better fortune for London-based eighth seed Carl Baxter, who beat Jan Vondra 21-16 21-9 to set up a clash with top seed Peter Gade, while Rajiv Ouseph beat Finland's Ville Lang 20-22 21-12 21-11.
Scotland's Susan Egelstaff is the only Briton in the last eight of the women's singles after a 21-12 21-8 win over Telma Santos of Portugal.
Helen Davies went down 17-21 21-16 21-11 to sixth seed Ella Diehl, and fifth seed Petya Nedelcheva saw off Elizabeth Cann 21-13 21-13.
