Robertson & Emms march into final
Gail Emms
Emms and Robertson eased past their opponents in straight sets
Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms beat new world champions Nova Widianto and Lilyana Natsir to book their place in the All England Championships final.

Robertson and Emms overwhelmed their Indonesian opponents 15-12 15-4 at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena.

The England duo are one win away from being the first pair to retain the mixed doubles title since 1981.

But waiting for them in the final are Zhang Jun and Gao Long, who beat English pair in the 2004 Olympic final.

The Chinese stars, who also won Olympic gold in Sydney, are seeded fourth here but had too much quality for top seeds Lee Jae-Jin and Lee Hyo Jung in Saturday's second semi-final. The 17-16 15-11 scoreline did not flatter them.

Emms, however, said she was unconcerned about who they would meet in Sunday's decider.

"Now we've just one match to go. I don't care who we face. We just want the title," she said.

"It was a far different performance to the quarter-finals. The Indonesians are a good pair but we were happy with the way we played."

England's Mike Tredgett and Nora Perry, who were the last pair to successfully defend their mixed doubles title 25 years ago, will be among the sell-out crowd for Sunday's final.

In the men's singles, South Korean fifth seed Lee Hyun-il beat Denmark's Peter Gade 3-15 15-8 15-1.

His opponent in the final on Sunday will be Chinese top seed Lin Dan who squeezed past world number two Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia 15-9 10-15 17-14.

And the women's individual competition will conclude with an all-Chinese clash between Zhang Ning and Xie Xingang.
