Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms won their second-round match at the All England Championships in Birmingham. The second seeds gained revenge against Koreans Jae-Jin Lee and Hyo-Jung Lee for their defeat in the German Open final, winning 10-15 15-11 15-7.
They now face Olympic champions Zhang Jun and Gao Ling of China in the last eight - a rematch of the Athens final.
Robert Blair and Natalie Munt beat Peter Jeffrey and Hayley Connor but out go David Lindley and Suzanne Rayappan.
England's Julia Mann, Elizabeth Cann and Jill Pittard all lost their women's singles second-round matches.

Mann retired when trailing Chinese fifth seed Ruina Gong 11-5 7-0, Cann lost 11-8 11-9 to Audin Tjiptawan of the Netherlands and Dutch eighth seed Jie Yao beat Pittard 11-1 11-1 in just 19 minutes.
Scotland's Susan Hughes also went out, losing 11-3 11-5 to Kanak Yonekura of Japan.
Men's second seed Peter Gade, the former All-England champion, missed a match point and was beaten in an astonishing third round match lasting almost two hours.
Muhammad Roslin Hashim reached the last eight with a 9-15 17-15 15-12 victory.
"I am very disappointed because I have been in great form," said Gade. "I don't know why, but after the first game I got very tired in my legs."
China have three players through, led by top-seeded defending champion Lin Dan who put out England's number one Aamir Ghaffar.
Women's second seed Pi Hongyang, who became a French citizen just before the Olympics, went down 11-6 11-7 to Japan's Kaori Mori.
