Olympic badminton champion Taufik Hidayat
Hidayat has yet to win the All England singles title
Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat has been forced to pull out of the Yonex All England Badminton Championships.

The Indonesian, who had been seeded sixth for the event, sustained a knee injury during training last week.

Hidayat, who was runner-up in the event in 1999 and 2000, will be replaced in the men's singles draw by Liao Sheng-Shiun of Chinese Taipei.

Qualifying starts at Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on Tuesday, with the first round on Wednesday.

Despite Hidayat's absence, the men's singles draw still features 17 of the world's top 20 players.

And all the top 10 women's singles players will be taking part.
