Gade cruises through in Anaheim
Ex-world number one Peter Gade began his campaign at the World Championships by crushing Pedro Yang 15-0 15-1.

Unseeded Shoji Sato of Japan accounted for number 12 seed Dicky Palyama of the Netherlands 15-10 15-8.

In the women's singles in Anaheim, Canada's Charmaine Reid rolled over Slovenia's Maja Tvrdy 11-6, 11-1.
