Guernsey beat Henley 4-3 in the 2009 Harrod UK Men's Trophy final Luxborough Lane in Essex on Saturday It was the first time Guernsey had ever got past the quarter final stage This was Henley second final in five years and they were looking to better their 4-1 loss to Banbury in 2004 Damian Wallen brought the sides level after Richard Wood had put Henley into the lead Guernsey took the lead for the first time as Adam Kitching dived to flick the ball past Henley keeper Roy Cox making it 2-1 Henley's Alastair Slay flicked a penalty corner home to level the sides at 2-2 Player/coach Ben Allberry slotted home a fantastic through ball from Andy Whalley to give the greens a 3-2 lead Guernsey's Adie Peacegood received two yellow cards during the match - the second after he had only been back on the pitch for a minute A penalty flick for Guernsey was slotted home by Allberry before a consolation flick for Henley by Alastair Slay in the final minutes left the score at 4-3 to the islanders Captain Andy Whalley lifted the England HA trophy to the pleasure of the crowd of more than 50 islanders who travelled to the match
