Beeston secured a place in next season's Euro League after beating Surbiton 2-1 at Highfields on Saturday. The Bees took the lead on 17 minutes when Chris Seddon's shot went in off a Surbiton stick. Seddon was then sent off for a reckless tackle just before half-time and Matt Daly converted the visitors penalty-corner to level the score. Beeston got the winner on 59 minutes, when Wayne Rowland fired past Surbiton keeper Allan Dick. The second-placed Bees are now a point behind England Hockey Premier Division leaders East Grinstead with just one game left. Beeston's final game of the season is at Hampstead & Westminster on Sunday, 29 March.
