| Great Britain beat Australia in a shoot-off to claim the men's recurve archery gold at the Meteksan Fita World Cup tournament in Varese, Italy. The three-man team of Larry Godfrey, Alan Wills and Simon Terry moved into a six-point lead early on. Australia levelled the match on the final end but Britain edged the shoot-off 27-26 to claim gold. "It's a great confidence booster and bodes well for other big tournaments this year," said GB boss Barry Eley.
