Dallaglio backing for Turin Games
Former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio
Dallaglio is proud of his roots
Former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio has agreed to become an ambassador for Italy's Piemonte region ahead of the Turin Winter Olympics.

Dallaglio's family hail from Turin, the city hosting the Games from 10-26 February 2006.

The Wasps skipper will be a figurehead for the region's tourist board in the run-up to the event and film a BBC Holiday programme showcasing the area.

Dallaglio is a regular visitor to Turin where his father Vicenzo's family live.

The 32-year-old retired from international rugby earlier this year after 73 Tests, the fourth most capped England player of all time.

He led Wasps to double glory last season in Europe's Heineken Cup and England's Zurich Premiership, and continues to lead the side.
