Joey Barrington, son of the legendary Jonah, suffered a first round defeat against 13th seed Renan Lavigne in the first round of the British Squash Open. Whilst his father was a six-times champion, Barrington had to qualify and secured entry less than 24 hours before round one in Nottingham.
That was to prove a decisive factor as he lost out in a gruelling five setter.
There were no such problems for top seed and world number one Lee Beachill who beat Rodney Durbach in 35 minutes.
In the women's event, defending champion Rachel Grinham, the world number one from Australia, cruised to a straight games win over unseeded Stephanie Brind from Kent.
She will now face English glamour girl Vicky Botwright, who brushed aside qualifier Lauren Briggs in 22 minutes.
Tania Bailey, making her first appearance in the event since reaching the final two years ago, also recorded a rapid 22-minute victory when she defeated Danish qualifier Line Hansen.
The 16th seed, battling back from injury problems, next faces seventh seed Nicol David, who beat Canadian qualifier Runa Reta in 27 minutes.
