The Galatsi Olympic Hall is located in a suburb in the north-west of Athens, eight kilometres from the city centre. It is scheduled to be finished in May, although successful test events in both table tennis and rhythmic gymnastics have taken place.
The Olympic table tennis competition gets under way on 14 August, with the finals taking place from 20-23 August.
The rhythmic gymnastics event will start on 26 August and culminate three days later.
The venue will also host the Paralympics table tennis event, which runs from 18 to 27 September with a one-day intermission on 22 September.
