Pakistan moved into a dominating position at the top of Group A as Rehan Butt helped guide them to a 3-0 win over South Korea in the men's hockey. The 23-year-old set Pakistan on their way when he deflected a free hit into the goal eight minutes after the break.
He then broke clear of the defence to set up Shakeel Abbasi who coolly slotted home Pakistan's second before Sohail Abbas completed the scoreline.
Pakistan now need only a win and a draw to progress to the semi-finals.
"Rehan impresses me the more I see him play," said Pakistan coach Roelant Oltmans.
"But now I don't want my team to become complacent.
"We must win both matches and then the main task starts when the semi-finals come."
Pakistan face Spain and Britain next as they bid to finish among the top two in the group.
In Group B, the Netherlands also retained their lead at the top of the table with a 3-2 win over South Africa.
