The boxing centre is a new location in the Peristeri area of the Attica region, lying just to the west of Athens city centre. Close to the Olympic Village, the Indoor Hall will have a total capacity of 8,000 seats during the Games.
The new competition venue will be serviced by the Sepolia and Aghios Antonios metro stations.
After the Olympics are finished, the indoor hall will form part of a multi-sports complex.
Part of the stands will be removed and replaced by a football stadium, two five-a-side football pitches, one open-air basketball court, two tennis courts and one volleyball court.
