Sprinter Maurice Greene insists the doping scandal that has rocked the US team will not wreck his Athens dream. "Does it shake me? No. Does it bother me? Yes, because it puts a black mark over something I love - track and field," said the Olympic 100m champion.
"I don't like any bad talk being talked about the sport that I work very hard in, but it doesn't shake me up because I have nothing to worry about.
"I'll be stronger when I walk out in Athens than I have ever been before."
Greene competes in the Norwich Union Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on Friday and insists he will run under 10 seconds. "You can bet your house on it, that's how confident I am," said the American. "That's what I do. I run under 10 seconds."
Greene's Olympic rival Shawn Crawford recently boasted that he could run as fast as 9.72secs for the 100m.
But Greene countered: "That's good for him. My coach says I can run 9.6secs - and that's faster than 9.72."
