Britain's Richard Faulds continued his impressive build-up to the Olympic Games with World Cup success in Suhl. The Hampshire shooter, who won gold at the 2000 Games, equalled the world record of 147 in the qualification round of the men's double trap event. A final round of 46 kept Faulds ahead of China's Binyaun Hu as he added a gold medal to the World Cup silver he won in Kerrville, Texas, last month. In April, he just missed out on bronze at the Beijing round of the World Cup. Faulds said: "These World Cup events are our preparation for the Olympics, and it's very important to peak in the right moment." British Shooting performance director John Leighton-Dyson said: "Richard is a truly world-class performer and we are delighted with his achievements so far this year. "We are very close to the Olympics and all of the potential Olympians are showing great promise."
