Richard Faulds continued his Olympic build-up with a silver medal in the ISSF World Cup at Kerrville in Texas. After a first round of 44, Britain's ex-Olympic champion shot consecutive 49s in qualification for a total of 142 and a share of third place. A final-round 47 in windy conditions lifted him to joint second, one target behind winner Hakan Dahlby of Sweden. A shoot-off against Jeffrey Holguin of the US went to Faulds 14-13, giving GB its first World Cup medal of 2008. Steve Scott also shot very well in the testing conditions, coming ninth, narrowly missing out on the final.
