Mad cap crosses the finish line

Guernsey-skippered Mad Cap crossed the finish line first in the Kleinwort Benson Yacht Challenge on Saturday.

She was one of 83 boats to successfully complete the annual Channel Island challenge, now in its 44th year.

Each year the direction of the race alternates, with the 2008 event seeing the fleet race from Castle Cornet, in Guernsey, to St Helier Harbour, Jersey.

Last year's overall winner Alice Two, skippered by Simon Henning, topped the

IRC Handicap class in 2008.
