Jersey father and daughter sailors David and Lily Carter came 12th overall at the World Hobie Cat Championships.

Their best race results were a trio of third places, while their worst was when they did not finish in their final race in Langebaan, South Africa.

David Carter told BBC Jersey: "It's been a fantastic event, there's a great atmosphere on the beach."

Jersey's Hannah Voak and Laurence Carter were also racing and finished 16th overall in the under-15s event.

The youngsters' best result was a fourth placed finish in their seventh race.
