Ipswich ready for Clifton clash

Rix is the third South Africa international to play for Ipswich

Ipswich Ladies start the new EHL Premier League season with a trip to Bristol to face Clifton on Saturday.

South African goalkeeper Mariette Rix is expected to make her debut after flying into the UK this week following her Olympic duty.

The Suffolk side will be without Hannah Tallent and Charlie Anderson but welcome back Lizzy Aldous and Emma Lee-Smith who missed last week's friendly.

Last season's meetings between the two sides both ended in home wins.

Meanwhile, Ipswich Mens first team start life in the newly-formed National East Conference with a home game against Sevenoaks on Saturday.

The Suffolk side boasts four England Under-16 internationals and will once again be captained by Ivan Smith.

The game starts at 1700 BST.
