 Hindle and Lancet were in fine form in Hong Kong |
A fine performance from Emma Hindle on Lancet saw Great Britain take second place after the first day of the Olympic dressage event in Hong Kong. Hindle, 33, scored 71.125%, moving into second in the individual qualifying behind Germany's Heike Kemmer. Team-mate Jane Gregory produced a disappointing performance on Lucky Star, scoring 63.375%. British dressage Rider of the Year for 2008 Laura Bechtolsheimer will compete on Thursday. The 23-year-old recently achieved a record 75.33% score by a British rider in an international grand prix at Olympia. The Netherlands lead the team standings with 70.250%, with Sweden in third on 66.583%. Gregory admitted she had been disappointed with her below-par performance. "I am cross with myself," she said. "It is very much inward frustration as I thought I could put him (Lucky Star) up to the scores we want. "He probably read a little tension in me."
