Interview: 10,000m runner Kate Reed Clevedon's Kate Reed believes that the high levels of humidity in Beijing will aid her performance in the 10,000m. Reed, 25, told BBC Sport that she is positive about the conditions that she will face in Friday's final. "I don't think it's a bad thing because humidity tends to help my asthma. I tend to run a lot better [than] when it is dry," said Reed. "I'm quite looking forward to that. My race is at night so the temperature will have cooled." The Bristol and West Athletic Club member says that whatever the result, there will be positives to bring back from China. "As long as I walk off the track with my head held high, knowing that I gave the best performance that was in me then I think I'll be happy," she added. "Hopefully I can learn a lot and take it forward with me into London 2012."
