Le Marquand wins two-mile event

Le Marquand won the 3k fun run at the Jersey Marathon in October

Jersey Spartan Wade Le Marquand crossed the line first in the two mile children's race that accompanied Sunday's Jersey Hash Half-Marathon.

The 14-year-old finished the run in 11 minutes exactly, 18 seconds ahead of 15-year-old Felicity Johnson-Deely who finished in overall second.

Elliott Dorey was third runner home, taking silver in his group in 11:29.

Second girl across the line was Danielle Leerson, who was sixth overall and first in her category.

More than 100 junior runners entered the children's race.
