British Olympic hopeful Naomi Folkard has won silver in the women's recurve at the European Archery Championships. Home favourite Berengere Schuh defeated the 24-year-old Briton 104-99 in the final at Vittell in France. Folkard, who won silver at the championships two years ago, will now concentrate on gaining a place in the British squad for the Beijing Olympics. She is one of six archers who will shoot off next month for the three available places in Team GB. GB team manager Hilda Gibson said: "Naomi's had a great week, and it was a shame she couldn't end it with a gold medal. | OLYMPICS BLOG | "On this form she will certainly be a contender in Beijing, if she qualifies, as will Schuh - both girls fully justified their place in the final." Folkard, from Leamington, defeated the highly-rated Russian teenager Natalya Erdynieva 103-101 in the quarter-final and Italy's Pia Carmen Lionetti 111-104 in the last four.
