British archers Simon Terry and Alan Wills have made it through to the World Championships semi-finals in the men's recurve tournament in Leipzig. The pair have also ensured GB two places in the men's individual event at next year's Beijing Olympics.
Naomi Folkard has secured GB at least one place in the women's individual event in Beijing after guaranteeing a top-20 finish in the women's recurve.
"It's been a very good day," said Team GB performance manager Barry Eley.
"I am delighted for Simon and Alan, who've performed fantastically well to get through to the last four of the World Championship.
"It's also brilliant news that because of their heroics, we're guaranteed two Olympic places in the men's championship at Beijing. And congratulations to Naomi Folkard as well for securing secured at least one place for the ladies in Beijing."
The British team could secure its full quota of three Olympic places for men and women when they take part in the team tournament on Friday.
After qualifying in second in the men's and fourth in the women's, both teams need to win just one match to achieve that.
