Liam Bradley's side lost another tight verdict at Casement Park |
Antrim squandered a series of late chances as Cavan held on to claim a two-point win in Sunday's Gaelic Life McKenna Cup clash at Casement Park. Paddy Gumley's goal helped Cavan take a 1-5 to 0-2 lead although the Saffrons reduced the margin to four points (1-8 to 0-7) by the interval. Cavan's Ciaran Galligan had to make an enforced departure following a yellow card after the break. Antrim cut Cavan's lead but they wasted four late point-scoring opportunities. The victory keeps alive Cavan's chances of making the semi-finals ahead of their final Section game with table toppers Armagh. However, Antrim's hopes are now over following Sunday's defeat.
