Conor O'Neill celebrates after scoring Tyrone's goal in the semi-final |
Tyrone eased into the All-Ireland MFC final after hammering Meath 1-21 to 2-7 at Croke Park on Sunday. It was a superb display by the young Red Hands, with Conor O'Neill netting on 28 minutes to help the Ulster side into a 1-7 to 0-5 half-time lead. Tyrone keeper Tim Harney saved a Michael Newman penalty and Meath briefly threatened after goals from Damien Carroll and Darragh Smyth. But Tyrone pulled clear again to secure a clash with Mayo in the decider. Kyle Coney was among the outstanding performers for the Reds Hands and the Ardboe forward struck seven points in the second half.
