The McKenna Cup trophy was won by Tyrone last year |
The 2007 Dr McKenna Cup will be boosted by the support of a new gaelic games publication which will be launched in the New Year. The 2007 competition, which starts on 7 January, will be known as the Gaelic Life McKenna Cup.
The North West of Ireland Printing & Publishing Ltd are publishing the new GAA magazine.
Ulster Council secretary Danny Murphy also added that a number of McKenna Cup games may be played under lights.
The provincial president Miceal Greenan said he was delighted at the support for the competition.
"The Dr McKenna Cup is now a well supported competition with almost 20,000 in attendance at last year's
semi-final an indication of the popularity of the event," said Mr Greenan.
Dominic McClements, General Manager of North West of Ireland Printing & Publishing Ltd, said his company was "privileged to be associated with the Dr McKenna Cup".
