 Tyrone ace Stephen O'Neill is on standby for the first Test |
Ulster's Stephen O'Neill, Michael Walsh and Paddy Bradley have failed to make the final Irish squad for Saturday's first Rules Test against Australia. Forwards O'Neill (Tyrone), Walsh (Down) and Bradley (Derry) were in a 33-man squad which has been reduced to 25.
The seven Ulstermen in the panel include Armagh trio Kieran McGeeney, Ronan Clarke and Stephen McDonnell.
Sean Martin Lockhart (Derry), Brendan Coulter (Down), Sean Cavanagh (Tyrone) and Karl Lacey (Donegal) also make it.
Red Hands star O'Neill is on standby for selection along with Darragh O Se of Kerry and Westmeath's Dessie Dolan.
McGeeney will captain the side against the Aussies in Saturday's opener in Galway and in the second Test on 5 November at Croke Park.
Oak Leaf defender Lockhart will set a new record for the number of appearances in the International Rules series if he plays at Pearse Stadium.
The Australia squad, which arrived in Ireland on Sunday, will be defending the Cormac McAnallen Trophy.
