Portaferry won the Down senior hurling title for the first time since 2002 by beating Ballycran at Ballygalget. The early part of the game was evenly matched but a goal from John Convery and seven points by Paul Braniff earned Portaferry a 1-9 to 0-8 half-time lead.
Colm McManus missed a penalty while Simon Wilson was in inspirational form.
Ballycran fought back to level the match at 0-14 to 1-11 but four unanswered points saw Portaferry run out four point winners.
Portaferry goalkeeper Karl Keating made four brilliant saves which denied certain goals.
