Abbey's Kevin McKernan gets the ball away Fergal McAliskey |
St Michael's Enniskillen came from nine points down to force a 3-8 to 3-8 draw against Omagh CBS in Saturday's Bank of Ireland MacRory Cup quarter-final. Goals from Jason McAnulla, Darren McCaffrey and Conal McCullagh helped Omagh lead 3-6 to 1-3 at half-time.
However, Michael Curran's second goal and James Maguire's injury-time point helped Michael's claim a deserved draw.
St Mary's Magherafelt beat St Pat's Armagh 2-4 to 1-4 while Abbey CBS drew 0-9 each with St Patrick's Dungannon.
St Mary's were a goal down but levelled when Dwayne McVey found the net. Donal Murray got the second goal to send the Magherafelt boys through to the semi-finals.
Abbey CBS hit the opening four points of the game at Monaghan Harps but the introduction of substitute Blaine Kilgallon helped to get the Academy back into the game.
Dungannon had to chase the game in the second half but their comeback was helped by five crucial points from Conor Bayne.
And it was Bayne who secured the draw with an equalising point in the final minute.
One of the crucial moments in the second half was when Abbey's Rory Cunningham had a great goal chance but his effort came back off the woodwork and rebounded to safety.
At Trillick, tempers flared after the final whistle with several Omagh and Enniskillen players involved in a brawl which could lead an investigation by the Ulster Colleges Council.
Kieran Leonard scored Enniskillen's third goal which brought the sides level at 3-6 to 3-6 after 44 minutes.
Darren McCaffrey's 54th minute point looked to have won the game for Omagh before Maguire's injury-time leveller.
The remaining last eight tie between St Louis Kilkeel and St Colman's Newry takes place at Newcastle on Saturday week (1100).
