Conor Gormley is held back by Donegal's Rory Kavanagh |
Tyrone will play Armagh in the McKenna Cup semi-final after coming from four points down to beat Donegal. Mickey Harte's men, the cup holders, were five points to one down with Ciaran Bonner doing the early damage.
But Stephen O'Neill got Tyrone's first point from play just before the break to leave them just two behind.
In the second period Tyrone stormed through with Ryan Mellon, Collie Holmes and Sean Cavanagh all on target and O'Neill ending with five points.
Tyrone play Armagh in the semi-final on 29 January at Casement Park in Belfast.
"That will be a good competitive game for us because our next game is a league opener against Dublin," said Tyrone manager Harte.
"We had a good amount of play in the first half but we were concerned about our finishing.
"We ended up with more direct ball in the second half.
"Stephen O'Neill was not player of the year for nothing, and he has started brightly again.
"He is a quality player. If you get good ball in to him, he is almost impossible to mark."
