McIver unveils his backroom team
Brian McIver
Brian McIver was a surprise choice as the new Donegal manager
Newly-installed Donegal football manager Brian McIver has finalised the composition of his backroom team for the 2006 season.

The former Ballinderry boss has opted for local knowledge and talent to bolster the county's quest for glory.

All three men who have agreed to fulfil the role of selectors have enjoyed successful club careers in Donegal.

Pierce Coyle, Michael Kelly and Francie Martin hail from Gweedore, Four Masters and Glenfin respectively.

McIver, who led Ballinderry to the All-Ireland club title, was confirmed as the new Donegal manager in succession to Brian McEniff in September.

The Donegal executive opted for Tyrone man McIver and the appointment was approved by the full county board.

McEniff's latest spell in charge ended after Donegal lost by a point to Cavan in an All-Ireland qualfier second round match in July.
