Sean Kelly says he does not want the referee replaced |
GAA chiefs plan to query a number of decisions made by referee Matthew James in Friday's first International Rules test against Australia in Perth. They intend to list a number of examples of decisions made by James which "puzzled them" and for which they will seek explanations.
"We felt the Australian referee made a few calls that were difficult to understand," said president Sean Kelly.
He added that the GAA did not want James replaced for the second test.
Ireland and Australia will meet again in Perth on Friday morning, with the home side enjoying a 100-64 advantage after the first game.
"If we have issues concerning the referee which can be rectified then we have a duty to do that," Kelly argued.
