Seven of Tyrone's All-Ireland heroes have been included in Peter McGrath's Ireland squad for the International Rules series in Australia.

Sean Cavanagh, Brian Dooher, Philip Jordan, Brian McGuigan, Stephen O'Neill, Ryan McMenamin and Owen Mulligan make the 27-man squad.

Also included are Down's Mickey McVeigh and Benny Coulter plus Armagh's Ronan Clarke and Derry's Sean Marty Lockhart.

Paddy Bradley misses out while Tadhg Kennelly is ruled out by injury.

The Kerryman, who helped the Sydney Swans claim the AFL Premiership title last month, will miss out because of an ankle injury.

Kerry full-back Michael McCarthy was not in contention for the trip Down Under after pulling out of the provisional squad for personal reasons while Armagh trio Paul McGrane, Stephen McDonnell and Andy Mallon also asked not to be considered.

Their Armagh team-mate Paul Hearty was included in the provisional panel but he has been left out of the travelling squad.

The first Test will be played on 21 October in Perth and the second a week later in Melbourne.

The 27 strong squad features a total of ten players who will be hoping to make their Ireland debuts.

They are: Ronan Clarke, Colm Cooper, Brian Dooher, Philip Jordan, Ryan McMenamin, Micheal McVeigh, Michael Meehan, Owen Mulligan, Ross Munnelly and Stephen O'Neill.

Of the remaining seventeen players, only Tomas O Se and Anthony Lynch did not feature in the Ireland line-up last year.

Tyrone captain Dooher acknowledged that he was looking forward to the trip Down Under.

"It's good to have the (other Tyrone) boys going and if you ask me, we could have taken a few more," Dooher told BBC Sport.

"But it's been a great year and hopefully we can keep it going for a few more weeks."

Thirteen counties in all are represented with Cork and Kerry each having the next biggest representation after Tyrone with three players each.

Ciaran McManus and Lockhart are the team's most experienced International Rules players with 12 appearances each.

The team will be captained by Padraig Joyce of Galway, who has appeared on nine occasions for his country.

Lockhart is the only survivor from 1998, when the series was revived.
