Down clinched their place in the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship final thanks to a 1-15 to 1-07 win over Offaly in Navan.

The Ulster side had raced into a four-point lead early on but Offaly fought back to be level at half-time.

Down dominated the second half, although it was some time before points from Martin Clarke and Ciaran Brannigan edged them ahead again.

A brilliant late goal from Richard Kerr sealed the win for Mark Turley's side.

Down minors: M McAllister, G Magee, C Garvey, H Magee, G McCartan, E McConville, K Duffin, J Colgan, P Fitzpatrick, D Lavery, M Clarke, S Grant, C Brannigan, R Kelly, P McCumiskey.
