Armagh secure Ulster minor crown
An Rocht star Martin Clarke
Martin Clarke scored five points for the losing Down side
A late penalty save from John McKeever helped Armagh to a 0-11 to 0-10 win over Down in the Ulster Minor Football Championship final at Croke Park.

Down were trailing by two points when McKeever dived low to his right to deny Kevin Duffin after Ryan Kelly had been fouled by Ciaran Toner.

Martin Clarke scored a point for Down in the last minute but was wide with an effort to level the game in added time.

Clarke scored five points for Down and Stefan Corkery notched five for Armagh.

Both teams missed chances in an entertaining game but it was Armagh who secured their first victory since 1994.

After the game Armagh manager Paul Kelly said "it was always going to be a close game".

"We are delighted to win but all credit to Down; they never gave up."
