The All-Ireland semi-final between Mayo and Fermanagh will go to a replay after the first meeting ended with the sides on nine points each. Fermanagh, in their first semi-final, will be disappointed as they failed to overcome the Connacht champions after they had James Gill sent-off.
The half-forward was dismissed for his second yellow card offence with 28 minutes remaining.
The replay will be at Croke Park on Saturday 28 August.
Fermanagh, who have never won a provincial title, got off to a great start with three unanswered points from play - James Sherry, Mark Little and Colm Bradley all on target.
But Mayo, known for their sluggish starts, stormed back into the contest with six points in a row and for a while the Ulster underdogs looked unlikely finalists.
High challenge
However, Charlie Mulgrew's side, who had beaten Cork, Meath and Donegal in the qualifiers and Armagh in the last eight, showed their battling qualities once again.
Bradley and Eamon Maguire scored before the break to leave the Ernesiders just one point behind and another from Bradley brought them level early in the second half.
When Tom Brewster came on as a substitute and Gill was dismissed for a high challenge on Stephen Maguire, it seemed the match should swing in favour of Fermanagh.
Liam McBarron and Brewster did edge the Ernesiders ahead on a couple of occasions but they could not shrug off Mayo.
Indeed, Mulgrew's men needed a free from Stephen Maguire to equalise with the last score of the game.
