St Galls and Loup claim wins
St Galls 0-13 2-5 Enniskillen

Antrim champions St Galls produced a tremendous display to defeat a disappointing Enniskillen outfit at Casement Park.

St Galls and Antrim full-forward Darren O'Hare
Darren O'Hare helped St Galls earn a deserved win over Enniskillen

Enniskillen have challenged strongly for the Ulster club title in recent years but they looked a team which had too much mileage on the clock on this occasion.

Ciaran Smyth's injury-time goal, which left only two points between the teams, flattered the Fermanagh side.

St Galls had heroes in forwards Sean Burns and Karl Stewart who hit six and four points - plus outstanding midfielder Mark McCrory, who also got on the scoresheet.

McCrory dominated the midfield exchanges where Paul Brewster was totally anonymous for Enniskillen.

Ronan McCabe opened the scoring for Enniskillen early on but the Belfast side, employing a refreshingly direct style, then hit seven points without reply.

Ciaran Gallagher and superb targetman Darren O'Hare were also causing major problems for the Enniskillen defence.

The Fermanagh side briefly threatened a comeback in the third quarter - especially when substitute Karlo Rooney scored an opportunist goal in the 40th minute which added to points from Colm Bradley and Tom Brewster.

The three-pointer left two two points between the sides and Enniskillen seemed on course to achieve a similar comeback win to last season when they defeated St Galls in the Ulster series.

However, Sean Burns then hit two frees which steadied Galls nerves and the Belfast side never really looked back thereafter.

Smyth's second Enniskillen goal was the last kick of the game.

Loup 0-10 1-6 Bryansford

Shane McFlynn's injury-time point earned Ulster Club Championship debutants Loup a somewhat fortunate win over Bryansford at Maghera.

The Derry champions seemed set for a facile victory when they charged into an early 0-5 to 0-0 lead with Johnny McBride dominating the midfield exchanges and Paul McFlynn picking off some fine points.

However, Gerard Morgan then finished off a superb individual move by hammering in a goal for Bryansford and three further points from the Down side left them 1-3 to 0-5 ahead at the break.

Bryansford finished the half with only 14 players with corner-back Johnny Cunningham receiving his marching orders after picking up two yellow cards.

However, the Bryansford hit the opening two points of the second half to leave three points between the teams but they failed to add another score in the final 20 minutes of the contest.

Loup gradually chipped away at Bryansford's lead and with the sides level when the match entered injury-time, a replay seemed certain.

However, McFlynn then popped up in injury-time to settle the issue.

Four Masters 1-8 0-10 Castleblayney

Four Masters edged out 14-man Castleblayney by a point in an exciting Ulster Club Football preliminary round replay at Clones.

Castleblayney suffered a huge blow in the ninth minute when their star attacker Ciaran Tavey was sent off for a bad challenge on Barry Dunnion.

Things got worse for the Monaghan champions a minute later, when the impressive Rory O'Donnell hammered to the after Michael Doherty's long ball had not been cleared.

The goal helped the Donegal side to a 1-5 to 0-4 interval lead with Doherty having notched three of their points.

Four Masters extended their lead in the third quarter to five points, with Joel Carr hitting two scores for the Donegal Town side.

Spurred on by some fine scores from Dermot McArdle, who finished with a total of six points, Castleblayney fought back in the closing stages but Four Masters hung on to edge the verdict.

Crossmaglen 0-13 0-11 Dromintee

A superb exhibition of scoring from Oisin McConville helped Crossmaglen claim their eighth successive Armagh Football Championship.

However, Dromintee gave Crossmaglen their biggest fright for many years.

Led by the four O'Rourke brothers and the excellent Oliver Gaughran, Dromintee fought back from four points down early in the second period to draw level with less than 10 minutes left.

However, a couple of McConville scores then proved decisive for the former All-Ireland Club Champions.

Crossmaglen led 0-4 to 0-3 after a tight first half.

The champions then took control in the early part of the third quarter only for Dromintee to get right back into the contest.

The game was up for grabs in the closing stages but Crossmaglen's greater composure proved decisive.

Dunloy 1-23 0-7 Ballygalget

Dunloy handed out a 19-point hammering to Ballygalget in Sunday's AIB Ulster Club Hurling Semi-Final at Casement Park.

The Antrim champions were always in control against the Down hopefuls.

Dunloy hit six unanswered points in the opening 11 minutes with Gregory O'Kane and Alistair Elliott looking extremely sharp.

O'Kane went on to top-score with seven points while Elliott contributed 0-5.

Any attacks Ballygalget did muster were repelled by a Dunloy defence in which full-back Sean Mullan was outstanding.

Dunloy led 0-13 to 0-4 at half-time and while Ballygalget did reduce the Antrim side's lead to 0-15 to 0-7 after 40 minutes, the winners hit an unanswered 1-8 in the closing 20 minutes.

Darren Quinn hit Dunloy's goal in the final minute.

Last year's All-Ireland Club Finalists will play either Dungiven or Keady in the decider.
