Tommy Lyons' side always looked the sharper outfit against a Tyrone team which was aiming to win the county's third All-Ireland U21 title in four years.
The Metropolitans made a fast start with Conal Keaney and Declan Lally points although scores from Aidan McCarron and Leo Meenan levelled by the eighth minute.
Unanswered points from Graham Cullen, Alan Brogan and John Noonan then put the Dubs three ahead although Tyrone had a chance to draw level only for the Metropolitans' goalkeeper Paul Copeland to produce a fine save to deny McCarron.
Tyrone senior Sean Cavanagh cut Dublin's lead to two points with a 27th minute score but Noonan's second free of the first period left Dublin 0-6 to 0-3 ahead at the interval.
Quick second half points from senior star Alan Brogan and Noonan increased the Leinster champions' lead to six by the 37th minute.
Tyrone cut the Dublin lead to four when Joe McMahon and McCarron registered points but that was the closest the Ulster county got in the second period.
Further Lally and Brogan points kept Dublin in control in the closing stages and while Leo Meenan missed a late goal opportunity, Tyrone never seemed likely to get back into the contest.
Dublin central defenders Mark Fitzpatrick and Brian Cullen starred for the winners while fittingly, excellent midfielder Declan O'Mahony notched the winners' final point in injury-time.
