Cavanagh was in sublime form at Croke Park against Fermanagh |
Tyrone's midfield dynamo Sean Cavanagh has warned that the Ulster champions are not finished yet. Cavanagh was part of the Croke Park cull that saw the Red Handers destroy a disappointing Fermanagh 1-21 to 0-05 in the opening All-Ireland quarter-final.
The lop-sided victory sees Tyrone facing the winners of Monday's quarter-final between Roscommon and the fancied Kerry.
''After last year's disappointment when we went down to Sligo, we have no intentions of stopping now,'' said Cavanagh who scored 1-02 in the very one-sided affair.
''It looks like it will be Kerry next, so that's one to look forward to.
''I would prefer Roscommon, naturally, but I cannot see the Kingdom getting beaten on Monday.
''They are probably one of the best sides in Ireland along with Armagh.
''But we certainly will not be complacent with those teams plus Galway still in the competition,'' said the young midfielder who was a little surprised as Tyrone's big victory.
''I certainly didn't think it was going to be as easy as it was. We were warned before the game how tough it was going to be.
''I suppose we were flattered, but it was just that we got the start that we needed and we never looked back.

''I haven't a notion what happened to Fermanagh out there. I suspect that once we went ahead, some of their lads dropped their heads a little. ''Some of their big performers just didn't do it on the day. But fair play to our lads who came in and did the business.
''At times it might have looked a bit leisurely, but everything was going well and I picked up a lucky goal early on.
''But don't rule Fermanagh out. They will be back next year. That was their first big day out at Croke Park and they will be hungry for more.
''The occasion just got to them. I suppose we could have done with a much tougher game considering that we will probably get Kerry in the next round.
''But we will take each game as it comes.''
