Cavan boss Mattie Kerrigan had no joy in the 2003 Championship |
Mattie Kerrigan has stepped down as the manager of Cavan's senior football panel.
The former Meath All-Ireland medal winner had been in charge of the Breffni Park outfit for two years having succeeded Val Andrews.
It emerged on Tuesday morning that Kerrigan had informed the Cavan Board he did not wish his name to go forward again for appointment at the county convention.
Cavan were knocked out of the 2003 Ulster Championship at the first hurdle when they went down to Antrim by two points at Casement Park.
And their interest in the All-Ireland qualifiers ended with a three-point reverse away to Fermanagh on 29 June.
