 P J O'Hare is to carry on as Antrim's football manager |
Antrim manager P J O'Hare has expressed his delight at being given the seal of approval from the county board for another year in charge of the Saffrons.
O'Hare guided Antrim to an Ulster Championship win over Cavan in May before they lost to title favourites Tyrone.
They then went down fighting in the qualifiers, losing by only three points to All-Ireland champions Armagh.
O'Hare returned as manager of Antrim in November 2002 but was seen by some as a controversial appointment.
At the time, a number of senior players told the county board they did not want O'Hare in charge.
However, O'Hare appears to have won over his opponents and has pledged to work hard to achieve further success for Antrim football.
"I will be looking at different players over the summer to see where the team could be improved," said O'Hare.
"It has been an enjoyable year although it would have been nice to win another game.
"The important thing now is not to let things slip. We are capable of further improvement."
