Cyclist Adam Armstrong will compete for Northern Ireland in Delhi

Eleven athletes from archery, cycling and shooting have been added to the Northern Ireland team for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

A total of 50 athletes have now been announced for the Games which take place from 3-14 October.

Martyn Irvine and Adam Armstrong have been added to the cycling team while clay pigeon shooters Mervyn Morrison and Debbie Bader are also selected.

Teenager Mark Nesbitt is among the archers who will be heading to India.

Nesbitt, regarded as the golden boy of local archery, qualifies in the men's team and individual recurve division.

During the qualifying campaign Mark, who shoots for Ballyvalley Archers in Banbridge, smashed the previous Northern Ireland record for the Fita 70 round which will be held at the Games.

Although only 17, he has made his mark on the world stage, winning team and individual gold at the Olympic Youth Festival in Australia last year.

He also claimed Junior European and World medals and secured a place for Team GB in the Youth Olympics.

Ian McGibbon, who shoots for Lough Cuan Bowmen from Newtownards, and Karl Watson, who represents the City of Belfast club, will compete with Nesbitt in the recurve team and separately in the individual class.

Bangor brothers Stuart and Darrel Wilson, along with Robert Hall from Carrickfergus, will take part in the team and individual compound division.

Emma Parker, currently based in England, will compete in the ladies individual compound division.
