Gymnasts Luke Carson and Charlotte McKenna are named in the second batch of 12 competitors selected for Northern Ireland's Commonwealth Games team.

Five-times medallist David Calvert, David Beattie and Kirsty Barr will compete in shooting events in Delhi.

Seventeen-year-old swimmer Laurence McGiven will be the first disability athlete to represent Northern Ireland at the Games.

Six male bowlers are included, adding to the five females already named.

The Games will take place from 3-14 October.

Gymnast Carson has been the Irish Senior champion for the last three years.

He achieved the Comonwealth qualifying mark of 47 at the Northern European Championships where he won two silver medals in apparatus finals.

McKenna picked up two bronze medals at the same championships in Cardiff last November.

Calvert, Northern Ireland's most successful Games competitor, will be taking part in the fullbore event.

Beattie won silver in trap shooting at the last Commonwealths in Melbourne.

Former Ballymena Academy pupil Barr fired her way to gold in the Commonwealth Shooting Championships in India in February.

Newry and Mourne athlete McGivern managed to swim five personal best times in this year's DSE Championships despite being out for a spell with a chest infection.

In bowling, Kelly plays in the singles, Ian McClure and Gary McCloy in the doubles, while the triples team will be made up of Daly, McHugh and Booth.
