Ross Carr saw his Down team beat Limerick in Newry |
Down netted four goals as they returned to winning ways against Limerick in Sunday's Division Three match at Newry. Aidan Carr drilled in a penalty after Benny Coulter had been upended by John Galvin in the 18th minute. Coulter then squared the ball to set up Daniel Hughes for the second goal while corner-forward John Clarke netted twice in the second half. Limerick ended with 14 men as Thomas Cahill was shown a straight red card following a clash with Jack Lynch. "The penalty gave us a bit of breathing space and we went on to play some good football," said Down manager Ross carr. "A lot was made of our defeat last Sunday and we were more disappointed than anyone. "We worked hard in training and got the result today."
