Larry Reilly will be anxiously awaiting the referee's report |
Cavan forward Larry Reilly could be ruled out of the Bank of Ireland Ulster Championship game against Antrim through suspension.
Reilly was sent off while playing for his club Knockbride in a Cavan Championship game against Drumgoon on Sunday.
It is understood that the match referee gave Reilly a straight red card dissent which is likely to mean at least a month's suspension for the forward.
Indeed, it's possible that Reilly could be given a heavier ban if he is found guilty of verbally abusing the match official.
Cavan face Antrim at Casement Park on 25 May and if they win that game will tackle either Tyrone or Derry on 15 June.
Reilly has been in good form this year for a Cavan team that just missed out on a place in the National League semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Sligo's Eamonn O'Hara will avoid an intercounty ban despite being red carded while spectating at a recent club game.
Cork team
The referee's report from the game has stated that O'Hara was set off for encroachment which means that he won't get more than a one-month ban at club level.
Therefore, O'Hara will be available for Sligo's Connacht opener against London on 25 May and the expected contest against Mayo on 8 June.
Meanwhile, Cork footballers will be without Graham Cantry (exams) and corner-back Noel O'Donovan (knee injury) for Sunday's tricky opener against Limerick.
The Cork team features championship newcomers Sean O'Brien, Noel O'Leary, Derek Kavanagh and Tom Kenny.
Manager Larry Tomkpins is giving Limerick plenty of respect after the Shannonsiders impressive league campaign.
Louth, meanwhile, will give a championship debut to Paddy Keenan in Sunday's Leinster Championship game against Wicklow at Croke Park.
