Gavin Devlin appeared to stamp on the Laois player |
Tyrone defender Gavin Devlin could be ruled out of the Ulster Championship game against Derry after an apparent stamping incident in Sunday's National League final.
TV evidence appeared to show Devlin stamping on Laois player Colm Parkinson in the first half of the League decider.
After being alerted to the incident by an umpire, referee Michael Collins yellow-carded the Ardboe defender but there is a possibility that video evidence could also be used against Devlin.
The GAA's disciplinary body the Games Administration Committee is not scheduled to meet until 14 May but officials could meet earlier than that to discuss the Devlin matter.
Tyrone officials have claimed that the incident was a reflex action on Devlin's part and are confident that the player will be exonerated.
A stamping offence normally incurs a three-month ban.
The GAC came under a lot of criticism after taking no action against Henry Shefflin and Philip Larkin of Kilkenny or Gerard O' Grady of Tipperary arising from incidents in the NHL game in April.
Tyrone face Derry on Sunday week.
