Roy Coyle's go 10 points clear in the Premidership

Glentoran moved 10 points clear at the top of the Daily Mirror Premiership after a hard-fought victory at Taylor's Avenue.

While they had most of the play, it took the runaway league leaders an hour before they finally broke through with Tim McCann and Michael Halliday getting the goals.

Ards had few chances and concentrated in keeping Glentoran at bay which they did extremely well.

The Glens had plenty of chances, however, to kill the game off in the first half.

Striker Andy Smith could have had two goals in the opening couple of minutes while Halliday and defender Tim McCann also went close.

Garry Haylock had one good effort for Ards saved brilliantly by Neil Armstrong who was deputising for Elliott Morris.

Glentoran finally broke the deadlock on in ther 60th minute.

It was the other Tim McCann who grabbed the opener when he fired home from 10 yards after being set-up by Darren Lockhart.

Glentoran doubled their score in the 71st minute when Halliday tucked away a header into the top right-hand corner from a left-wing cross by McCann.

Crusaders 0-2 Coleraine

Two first-half goals by Barry Curran and Rory Hamill saw Coleraine pick up the points at Seaview.

Marty Quinn's side went ahead in the fourth minute and continued to keep a stranaglehold on the home side.

The opening goal came from a Barry Curran corner which found Rory Hamill who fired through a crowded penalty area past the unsighted goalkeeper John Connelly.

Sean Armstrong made it two four minutes later when he tapped home a Hamill cross.

Michael McHugh twice had a chance to stretch Coleraine's lead before the break, but once he fired wide, and a second effort was well stopped by Connolly.

There were no goals in the second half but Alan Murphy hit the post for Crusaders while McHugh rattled the crossbar.

Armstrong saw another shot well saved again by Connolly as Coleraine got back to winning ways after their defeat by Omagh on Saturday..
