Chris Walker will be out of action for several weeks |
Glentoran skipper Chris Walker will miss a number of crucial games because of an injury sustained in training.
Walker hurt an ankle and expects to be out for at least three games.
The central defender is due to go back to hospital next Wednesday for a futher examination.
"The ankle has swollen so much the doctor could not be specific about the damage," said Walker.
"I will have another X-ray on Wednesday and should know more then.
"At the moment I think I will be out for three games but it is difficult to know.
"It is definitely not broken or fractured - that is one good thing."
Walker will have to watch his team-mates from the Oval stand as the Glens play Linfield in the big Belfast derby on Saturday 22 March.
It is also likely he will miss the Nationwide Irish Cup semi-final against Portadown on 5 April.
